Colour matching
Please note colour matching requires a 20mm sample of the surface area.
Quotes for house painting costs are calculated on a per square metre basis. In most cases, this house painting cost estimation includes paints and all other supplies.

However, the per square metre charge can sometimes be deceptive, as it considers all the work that goes into a painting job, some of which is less obvious.

For the cost to paint house interiors, some factors considered include:

  • Is there any surface preparation or repairs required
  • Are their architraves and trim
  • How many doors need to be painted
  • How high is the ceiling
  • Number of colours used
  • Damage to walls.
  • Decorative plaster.

Option 2 – Per square meter

The cost to paint a house interior is usually between $20-$45 per square metre, including one undercoat and two finishing coats.

Calculating the area of a space is quite straightforward. To find the area in square meters (m²) of a rectangular space like 3 meters by 4 meters, you can simply multiply the length by the width.

In this case:
Area (m²) = Length (m) x Width (m)
Area (m²) = 3m x 4m = 12 square meters

Options 3 – Hourly Rate

Standard Rates
$70 to $95 per hour, per worker
